This is the second critique I write about your work so this is the second time I watch it so attentive and I see you're good at making your scenes dynamic. The turned frame helps that very good! I like the way you suggest that the character is near the sea. I see it's windy because of the black flying particles, the hair of the boy and the moving clothes. This, the ropes, the captain clothes that the boy wears, the flag and the threatening heaven filled with packed clouds wake the idea that the picture is at a harbour. I have to mention the flag. Drawing a waving flag in perspective is very difficult, so it's really nice you drew it so well! I think the character is cute and drawn good, but as I see in the description, it's meant as a pirate. I'm sorry, but I don't see it in the picture. For me the boy is a little captain, with great plans, but no pirate. I expect a pirate to be more rough, to wear old, worn clothes and to have a big hook sword. Not a sweet little boy with a fine suit. I expect a pirate to have a big scar over his whole face, not a careful little one. Not that I don't like it, but I don't associate it with a pirate. The colours are nice. Romantic red, the colour of the sunset and a calm, cool blue. If you drew the same picture a few minutes later, I guess the boy stood in the rain and thunder. But, maybe you could let the colours more come back in the skin of the boy? And maybe you can make the contrast between the character and the background bit stronger? There are two little details left I don't like. The letters again (though I think they're better than the other picture I wrote a critique for) and the little bird. But that's just a question of taste; the bird gives the picture a bit more a funny sphere that I don't like, but I think there are enough people who still like it. For the rest I think this is a really good digital drawing. The big picture is lovely and I like the sharp lines. Now I have just one thing to say. Or - better - to ask. Can you draw non-manga too?
